Really nice staff, great food and just all round what you want when youre on the road to recovery. Thanks guys all the best
A family member has been here for relatively long stays on two seperate occasions now, through referral from the nhs. Cannot fault the care recieved, the staff or the actual building and facilities available. Truly feel like our family member has been well looked after and made huge improvements, especially in comparison to some of the other places they have been. Huge thanks to all of the staff for all of their hard work, support and care
I have just spent the full duration of my section 2 on the Haven Ward (as well as a short spell a couple of years ago) and I'm absolutely astounded at the ignorance of some of the negative reviews. With the time and resources they have, the staff do an absolutely amazing job, if anything they do not get enough praise!Yes, on occasion a member of staff who doesn't know you might be a bit patronising and yes the meetings with responsible clinicians a bit short but how anyone has the audacity to moan when I've never seen a set of people work so hard and so passionately before is beyond me. It won't be long before no one wants to work in mental health care if people continue to be so ungrateful.I went in knowing there was no magical cure to my illness as well as an understanding of how far stretched services are. At times no one had a spare moment for me due to other very poorly people needing/wanting attention but I was never forgotten about.Lovely setting, lovely rooms, lovely food. The front line guys (nurses and support workers) need to know how much of a difference they make and that they are appreciated. My personal thanks to the teams and especially Sophie, Andy, Matthew, Jon, Vic, Hannah, Vincent, Steven, Gemma and Mandy.
The consultant is unempathetic, rude and cold. She does not care, 'patients are patients' Ward rounds last aprox. 8 minutes. Anyone who has been there, family or patients, will know exactly which psychiatrist and doctor i am referring too. This poor attitude is damaging to patients. They go there to get better not worse. It's an over flow dumping ground for the NHS, they accept extremely poorly patients who clearly need to be in more secure wards. This has a bad impact on other patients. There is no gym on sight. No windows to look out from on the ward and the bedroom windows are misted, caged and do not open. It's sensory deprivation. It's understaffed so you can go for days not going outside. This is not the fault of the nurses or HCAs, alot of them are kind and caring towards patients. There is a big staff turn over which speaks for itself. Agency staff are the majority. The food is great but people don't go there for that. Please don't let your family/NHS provider put you there. It is a damaging environment.
Lovely calm place, with brilliant staff. Great fresh food located in a beautiful area. Everything you could need to get the help to get on the road to recovery. One staff member stood out from all the rest, lovely Mandy will crack a joke and banter with you all night.
