probably the best gym in harrogate!it is more expensive than other local gyms but worth the extra cash for the facilities and overall quality,

Primarily wanted to join because of the Les Mills fitness classes. The tour made this place sound like heaven. So many class offerings, availability of creche (kids club), and an amazing gym. Spent about 3 hours on a tour, biggest waste of time ever. The class schedule we were giving was outdated, and when I actually went online to see the fitness class offerings, every evening class was always full. Been a member for a month and I haven't gotten to go to any of the gym classes because of them being to full. Creche availability (advertised 6 days) was a complete lie, with it being closed 3 days a week. Couldn't even take classes during creche because either creche was full or the class was full. Can't believe how much the charge and don't offer more class times, being that it is so popular.
Since being taken over by David Lloyd it has gone down hill. The new gym layout is tiny with only one machine for each muscle group and 4 weight benches squeezed into a corner room, loads of treadmills but not much else. They have reduced the number of classes on an evening and all the good instructors left once it was taken over. Really miss the family feel of the old academy.
Incredibly overpriced. The club is not much better than the Academy was, and there's definitely better tech out there for measuring performance. Changing rooms are nice and staff seem friendly though.
